John Chisholm
Board of Directors

John Chisholm grew up in Merrimack, NH and attended the public school system there.  He then attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA and earned his B.S. in Biotechnology in 1999 with hopes to pursue medical school.  While in college, John volunteered many hours at Merrimack Fire Rescue (MFR) as an Emergency Medical Technician.   After graduating from WPI, he formed a small computer consulting business and left this to work at Enterasys Networks based out of Andover, MA.  Due to downsizing, John took a part-time job at MFR and eventually attended New England EMS Institute (NEEMSI) and obtained his paramedic certification.  John accepted a job with MFR and then earned his firefighting certifications.  While employed at MFR, he held part-time positions at NEEMSI as a Paramedic Educator and at Peterborough Fire Rescue as the Clinical Director of the Interfacility Transports Division.  John left MFR after 13 years with a rank of Master Firefighter/Paramedic and accepted the position of EMS Officer at Concord Fire Department (CFD) in 2016.  In this role, John served the administrative Captain in charge of Emergency Medical Services.  John was promoted to Acting Deputy Chief in 2020 to help fill a long-term vacancy formed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  This promotion was made permanent in March 2021, and John now serves as the Deputy Fire Chief of Administration.

John lives in Concord, NH with his wife and two children.  The Chisholm family takes annual trips to Lithuania to visit family and friends.  John enjoys digital photography and his wife, Egle, is devoted to various forms of arts and crafts
