DESCRIPTION:Join Riverbend for an online course in Adult Mental Health First Aid\, to learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.\n\n\n\nRiverbend Community Mental Health clinicians are providing skills-based training in Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). This blended format course consists of two hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led training. Participants who complete the course will receive their Mental Health First Aid Certification\, good for three years.

Please sign up here to attend both sessions and receive your Mental Health First Aid Certification.  \nJoin the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and Riverbend Mental Health\, Inc. for a 2-part workshop on Mental Health First Aid. This program will teach you how to identify\, understand\, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Nearly 1 in 5 individuals in the U.S. live with a mental illness; whether you are an employer\, HR professional\, or work in a service industry\, the skills provided in this workshop will help you safely\, effectively and mindfully support individuals who are experiencing these challenges. This interactive workshop includes group exercises and activities that will provide training for practical situations—assessing individuals for risk of suicide or harm\, encouraging individuals to seek appropriate professional help\, and interacting with individuals in crisis. DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that helps you\, understand\, and respond to someone who is experiencing a mental health or a substance use challenge. It is founded in the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better\, and then use their strengths to stay well. \nYou will learn risk factors and warning signs; gain a better understanding of depression\, anxiety\, trauma\, psychosis\, and addiction disorders; and explore a 5-step action plan for helping a friend or loved one\, as well as learning where to turn for help. \nThis virtual class is taught in 2 parts: \n\nPart 1 : Self-paced online 2 hour class\nPart 2: Virtual classroom with two (2) Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructors\n\nThis course requires 2-hours of self-paced pre-work that MUST BE COMPLETED prior to attending the 5-hour virtual classroom. Links and instructions for the self-paced pre-work will be sent via email to participants enrolled by May 5\, 2021. Once the pre-work is completed\, participants will receive a link to the virtual classroom portion scheduled for May 15\, 2021. \nAfter completing the pre-work and virtual classroom portion of the training\, you will become certified in Mental Health First Aid for three years. \nRegister Now \nRegistration deadline is  May 5\, 2021 \n
