DBT Life Skills Groups

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a cognitive behavioral treatment with a skills group component teaching modules of skills for building a life worth living. Riverbend Counseling Associates is pleased to be offering DBT skills groups for adults.

DBT group being offered this session:

Interpersonal Effectiveness Group
Learn how to ask for what you want and to say no when you need to, how to communicate more effectively with those close to you and others at work and in your everyday life.

Thursdays, 5:15pm-6:45pm, for 8 weeks

Crazy Time: On Your Own Again Group
Learn, share and heal in a supportive environment.  You will have the opportunity to learn specific strategies for getting on with your life through separation or divorce – both the public and private aspects of being single again. Learn to keep friendships and family ties while starting to build a new life.

Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm, for 8 weeks

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression Group
This group offers an innovative program that has been clinically proven to bolster recovery from depression and prevent relapse. The approach integrates cognitive therapy principles and practice into a mindfulness framework, teaching participants an effective way to shift their relationship to the thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations that contribute to depressive relapse.

Tuesdays, 2:30-4:30pm, for 8 weeks

Building Healthy Relationships
For Women Group
The focus for this group is on learning about, developing and practicing the skills for having a healthy partner relationship. The group is specifically for women who are in problem relationships, those relationships which may involve issues of unhealthy control.

Tuesdays, 5:15-6:45pm, for 8 weeks

The starting date for each group is dependent upon group enrollment being filled.

Ask for an Intake appointment if you are not currently a Riverbend client.

If you currently see a therapist @ Riverbend, as your clinician to refer you for the group you request.

Referring clinicians or clients are invited to contact group facilitators with questions about the group at 226-0817.
