Children's Intervention Program
Statistics
Between 14% and 20% of all children and adolescents have a diagnosable mental disorder at some point. Alcohol and drug abuse, suicidal thoughts, depression, eating disorders, and conduct disorders tend to be the most prevalent problems among these age groups. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for individuals between 15 and 24 years of age.
Early intervention for a troubled child is critically important to help them reach their potential for healthy development. Studies have proven that helping children overcome early problems results in greater academic achievement and healthier social adjustment.
Riverbend Community Mental Health helps children and their families through a wide range of therapeutic, educational, and support services.
