Sequest Technologies’ Solution Leadership Award 2009 is recognition of Riverbend’s efforts to achieve better clinical outcomes for its clients

Sequest Technologies recently presented Riverbend with a Leadership Award for its advanced use of technology to create an accurate, secure and efficient electronic medical record.

Riverbend is among the largest of the State’s ten community mental health centers, providing services for nearly 8,000 children and adults annually.  These comprehensive medical and counseling services are provided at over 20 primary sites in the Capitol region and throughout Merrimack County.  The large number of physical sites, where physicians, nurses, caseworker and counselors are required to record and track client data, creates a challenge, but one that Riverbend has met through its use and adaptation of Sequest Technologies’ TIER software system.

In 1999, Riverbend chose Sequest Technologies as its technology partner, acquiring the TIER software system to serve as the foundation for its Electronic Medical Record.  Today Riverbend continues to be in the forefront of the use of the Electronic Medical Record, and this Award is a credit to its early adoption and sustained use of technology to better manage clinical data. “ Riverbend invests in technology because EMRs truly enhance the quality of care provided and ultimately reduce the cost of care delivery,” according to President & CEO Louis Josephson, PhD.  “We are appreciative that Sequest has recognized our innovation in adapting TIER to manage within the framework of our State’s regulatory environment.”

“TIER allows us to easily and accurately capture patient data,” states Agnes Miner, Director of Information Technology.  “There is an increasing drive toward the sharing of medical information among professionals in all facets of healthcare, for the benefit of the consumer.  We have been at the forefront of the development of an EMR in New Hampshire, and we are pleased to be recognized for our leadership.”
