Riverbend’s Cardiometabolic Psychiatry Clinic addresses the increased health risks of consumers who are being treated for severe and persistent mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
According to the Clinic’s Founder, Dr. Jeffrey Fetter, “The research is clear that adults with a significant mental illness have a shortened life expectancy. Concord Hospital is among a handful of hospitals in New England to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) which is a safe, painless, noninvasive treatment for depression that uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate the brain. Patients may be eligible for TMS if antidepressant medication use or other treatments have been ineffective.
