There is an acute nationwide shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists. Currently there are only two child and adolescent psychiatrists in the Concord area, and both of these individuals are employees of Riverbend. What does that mean for our community?

The Health Buddy ® is an electronic unit that was developed to provide two-way communication between healthcare providers and patients. It was designed to help people manage their physical and mental health on a daily basis, identify potential risks before they become serious, and work as a team with healthcare providers. The system consists of an in-home device designed by Health Hero Network, Inc and a library of questions and medical information developed by McKesson, Inc.

Concord Hospital is among a handful of hospitals in New England to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) which is a safe, painless, noninvasive treatment for depression that uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate the brain. Patients may be eligible for TMS if antidepressant medication use or other treatments have been ineffective.

Riverbend Community Mental Health is pleased to announce our integration with three primary-care physician offices in our area. Riverbend clinicians will be onsite, offering support and treatment for mental-health issues in collaboration with the primary-care physicians' treatment of physical health.
