How to Make a Gift of Stock

For securities held in a brokerage account, please direct your broker to deliver your gift of securities to Riverbend via Electronic Funds Transfer.  It is important that you also notify us of your intended gift, including  the name of the stock and estimated value or number of shares in order to ensure that the transaction is complete as you intended.

It will be helpful to fax or email these instructions to your broker, or to call us so we may do so on your behalf.

For securities that you hold in a drip (dividend reinvestment) account, please contact your account administrator.  Do not sell the stock and send us the proceeds if you wish to take advantage of possible capital gains tax savings.

For securities that you hold in certificate form, please mail or deliver the stock certificate to us.  A signed stock power should be mailed or delivered separately.  It is recommended that you do not sign the back of your stock certificate.
