Bequest Fact Sheet

The most popular way to make a lasting difference is to include a bequest to Riverbend in your will or estate plan.  Please share this language with your lawyer.  If you have already included Riverbend in your will or estate plan, please consider enrolling as a member in the Riverbend Legacy Society.

Types of Bequests
There are several ways to include a bequest in your will or revocable living trust.  Here are several examples to consider with your family and share with your attorney and professional advisors.

1. Specific Bequest
   "I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $10,000 to “Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., a non profit corporation with its principal place of business located in Concord, New Hampshire, for its general corporate purposes."
2. Bequest of a percent of the estate or Residuary Bequest
   "I give devise and bequeath 20% of all the rest, residue and remainder of all property owned at my death, whether real or personal, and wherever located to “Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., a non profit corporation with its principal place of business located in Concord, New Hampshire, for its general corporate purposes."
3. Contingent Bequest
   "If my brother John Doe fails to survive me, I give, devise and bequeath his share of my estate to “Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., a non profit corporation with its principal place of business located in Concord, New Hampshire, for its general corporate purposes."

A Codicil or amendment may also be made to your existing will or revocable living trust. A bequest to Riverbend may offer estate tax savings as well.  Please contact us for additional information.
